Deputy Group Head for Viral Immunology Marah Chibwana has been awarded an MSc scholarship at University of Oxford to study Integrated Immunology. She will begin her studies in October 2021 Her research will focus on understanding the regulation of immune responses in men and women, how these sex differences influence acquisition and outcomes of infectious diseases, and how they can be utilised in the design as well as testing of therapeutics. 

She said, “I am very excited and pleased by this selection and scholarship into this competitive program at the University of Oxford. The MSc in Integrated Immunology delivers the fundamental basics of Immunology in combination with applied clinical aspects. This course is suitable for clinicians, like me, because it explores how basic medical science research can directly inform patient care and treatment.”
